Three in a row ! / Et de trois !

Written by Matrix team at 15:13 11/2-2013

Montelbano just made a true achievement, winning a third time in a row the Essex Tour, for his third participation only. This is due to his amazing abilities, perfectly fitted for this course, and can no more be explained only with luck.

Therefore the start was not that good with « only »a 7th place in the first stage, quite far behind well prepared captains like Drimalas (Kremer), Liuni (Drapeau Noir) or Redman(Gradient levellers). Manager Thomas Anderson had a bad feeling, thinking the Tour was lost after two wins. 54 seconds and 6 riders in ahead Sandro seemed to be to much.
This is when Montelbano himself reminded everyone that the 2nd stage was his field, and that his legs were good enough to make a great come back. Searching in the last seasons archive files we realized huge gaps were created in the TT stage, making us all hoping for a podium, and with more luck for victory.

Sandro did the job, winning the TT. Then it was time to wait, and see the other GC contenders, failing one after the other, until Drimalas totally crushed, finishing 11th in the general classification, and giviing Sandro his third title here.

Liuni, 2nd overall, a real great result for his Team Drapeau Noir, was relegated at 44 seconds, quite far behind considering his lead after the first stage. Redman finished 3rd, a great result after his win in the Vuelta some days ago.

The last stage was the easiest part, taking advantage of all this, and already thinking of next year challenge : do as good or even better !

   ------------------------------------------------------------------

  Congrats yann. A fine achievement!

Winning a tour always needs a bit if luck. But winning 3 in a row shows there's also a lot other than luck involved.

Matrix team at 17:54 12/2-2013
  you may be right ;)

Kremer at 17:50 12/2-2013
I heard Liuni will be there. I am afraid of him

Matrix team at 17:47 12/2-2013
too bad with 3 titles in a row, why not try a 4th?

Kremer at 17:47 12/2-2013
I doubt I'll join Cymru next season

Matrix team at 16:58 12/2-2013
Three times in a row? statisticians would disagree i think...
But don't worry i'll be in Cymru next year, and we'll see what luck will decide ^^

Kremer at 06:48 12/2-2013
Yep. I had more luck than others.

Manisaspor at 23:09 11/2-2013

Kremer at 21:34 11/2-2013
